Welcome 2011!  Starting a new year is like slowly opening a present you weren’t expecting…you don’t know what is in store but you anticipate a wonderful gift!  I’m always careful about what I do on New Year’s Day.  I’ve always heard whatever you do on New Year’s you do all year long.  So believe me, I don’t do laundry, pay bills, run to the store for something I forgot or do paperwork.  I know I will do those things in the upcoming year, but no sense in writing it in stone!  Instead, I try to bring in the New Year doing things I enjoy and today I did just that!

Now,  those are things I would like to do all year long!  I haven’t made any resolutions but those are all things I would love to spend more time doing in 2011!  To help with the scrapping part of it, I bought a subscription to 52 Inspirations at O’Scraps to spark my scrapping and journaling!  I’m anxious to start this creative journey and hope the weekly goodies will keep me on track

I know lots of you complete Project 365 – a photo a day.  I know better than to try that.  I may go days trying to remember where I put my camera…but I do have a template to share with those of you organized and disciplined enough to complete this fun project.  You can download the template HERE!  Good luck with your creative journey and may God bless you in 2011!

So we have this adorable (most of the time) Maltese named Birdie…yes, we have a dog named Bird.  I get strange looks sometimes when I tell people her name…but, it suits her.  She didn’t start out as Birdie.  When we first got her, Heath named her Snow.  And, eventually, we started calling her Snowbird after News Channel 4’s Snowbird.  Snowbird gradually changed to Birdie and the name stuck!  It fits her personality and her occasional belief she can fly (as in, fly from the back of the couch to the counter where the pizza box is sitting).  Here’s a picture of Birdie in Heath’s houndstooth toboggan, ready for a snowy day!

If finding a four leaf clover truly means 7 years of good luck – I will have good luck till the end of time.  You see, I have this completely useless talent…finding 4 leaf clovers.  I probably found 5 or 6 last week alone.  Finding 4 leaf clovers is a nontransferable skill.  I mean finding things would be a great talent…but I assure you I am not good at finding things.

Take sticky notes for instance.  I cannot tell you how many stinking sticky notes with important information I have lost.  I only find them after I need them.  Like today, it happened to me twice…had to track down the info again…only to find those annoying yellow notes just after I made the phone call and sent the email to get the info!

I’m going to blame my whole “not being able to find important things” quality on being right brained.  I recently bought a book on right brained organization because I read an article about how all the organizational books were written by left brained people and we right brainers couldn’t stay organized using their strategies.  Did the book help?  Well I read half of it and then I lost the book – so, I’m thinking…

At least I have a gazillion years’ worth of good luck to bail me out of trouble I might find from losing those silly sticky notes!

I got some really great buys too! I got Kelly Rae’s Taking Flight, a few Stampington publications and lots of craft supplies!  Ready to create tomorrow for sure!  See, it is perfectly fine not to  follow plans!!!   And do I have any plans for tomorrow?  Of course I do…
